When you can build pipelines but not ones that hold at scale

I can build a pipeline that moves data from one place to another and it mostly works. But push it to real scale and things start breaking in the night, and I wake up to alerts and a mess I didn't see coming. I keep patching it, never quite trusting it to hold.
