I can walk into any courtroom now and give a client a real fight, whatever they're charged with. But I still see the faces of the ones the system swallowed anyway - the kid who took the plea because trial was too big a risk. I'm good at this work, and some nights the ones I couldn't save weigh more than the ones I did.
