I can cut dialogue and clean up a track well enough to be proud of it. Then a session lands with twenty layers fighting each other, or audio recorded in a wind tunnel, and I'm lost. I push sliders and it gets different, not better. Hours later my ears are fried and the mix still sounds like mud.
More people experience this than they realize.
You can edit sound, but dense mixes and bad audio still defeat you.
