I can lay out the diagnosis and the numbers clearly, no problem. But when the patient's eyes fill up, or the family goes quiet and scared, and they need me to just be with them in it, I freeze and retreat back into the facts. I don't know how to hold that moment.
More people experience this than they realize.
You can state the facts but freeze when a scared patient needs you present.
