My boss started giving me feedback yesterday and I could feel myself needing every sentence wrapped in reassurance before I could hear it. People have learned this about me, so they pad everything until the actual point nearly disappears. Then I wonder why I never quite know what to fix.
More people experience this than they realize.
You can only take feedback when it's so cushioned the real point gets lost.
