The list is right there on my screen and my hand is on the phone, and I just... don't. I straighten my desk, refill my coffee, check my email one more time, anything but press the numbers. By lunch I've made two calls instead of twenty, and the shame of it sits heavier than any rejection ever could.
More people experience this than they realize.
