I've stopped building training people just sit through, and I actually design for people to get it now. But when my boss asks did it work, all I can hand her is an attendance sheet and some feel-good survey scores. I know something real changed for some of them. Proving that actual learning happened, and not just that people showed up, is the part that keeps eluding me.
More people experience this than they realize.
You design for real learning now, but you can't prove understanding happened beyond who showed up.
