I can guide most kids toward a plan that fits them. But then there's the student with no one at home in her corner and every odd stacked against her, and I feel my usual advice go thin and useless in my mouth. I want to promise her it'll work out, and I go home hollow because I'm not sure it will.
More people experience this than they realize.
