The last time a job ended badly, I wasn't lost like I used to be. I knew what I was owed, what the rules were, and what I could do if they crossed a line. There's a calm in that I didn't have before. If someone treats me unfairly on the way out now, I can look at it clearly and act instead of just swallowing it.
