When you know the product but designing the whole solution overwhelms you

I know our product cold, every feature, every setting. But when a customer describes their tangled setup and asks how it all fits together for them, my mind goes blank. There are ten ways to piece it and I can't tell which one won't fall apart in six months. I nod and buy time while inside I'm scrambling to see the whole picture they're trusting me to see.
