I can walk into any classroom and help a teacher get better, and I am good at it. But I sit in meetings about test scores and staffing all day, and I cannot remember the last time I actually taught a child anything. I became a leader to help more kids, and somehow I lost the part that made me a teacher.
More people experience this than they realize.
You can improve everyone's teaching, but you no longer feel like a teacher yourself.
