I've given years to students the system keeps failing, and I love these kids and this work in a way that's hard to explain. But I'm always fighting, for an aide, for hours, for a chair that fits, for the basics they should already have. I'm caught between how much I love it and the slow burn of having to battle for every scrap.
More people experience this than they realize.
You love the work and are worn down by fighting for every basic resource.
