When I look at the numbers now, I can pull out what matters and say plainly what it does and doesn't tell us. I don't hide behind one more chart to dodge the call; I make the decision and name the parts we still can't be sure of. Holding that honest uncertainty out loud used to scare me, and now it's the most trustworthy thing I do.
