When you process candidates but can't make it feel human

I move people through the hiring steps, the screens and the interviews and the emails, like an assembly line. But somewhere in the rush I know they're just becoming names in a queue to me, not real people hoping for a chance. I want them to walk away feeling treated like human beings, and I can't seem to make that happen.
