I sat with a budget today knowing that every line I cut means someone gets less care, and every line I don't cut brings us closer to closing entirely. If the doors shut, no one gets anything. I keep asking myself whether keeping the place alive is worth the care I'm rationing to do it.
More people experience this than they realize.
You have to ration care to keep the doors open, and it feels like betraying the mission.
