I've made peace with what my work is and what it isn't. I know when I'm here for the paycheck, when I'm building something, and when I'm doing the thing that actually feels like mine. But choosing with open eyes doesn't make it painless, because some days seeing clearly just means knowing exactly what I'm giving up.
