I can take a pile of raw footage and cut it into something that makes people cry or cheer. But I do it alone in a dark room, year after year, shaping story after story that all belong to someone else. I come up for air and can't quite remember where my own story went while I was busy telling everybody else's.

You spend your life shaping other people's stories and lost track of your own.
