When you speak for everyone and lose your own voice

I can steer a story through almost any crisis now, finding the right words when everyone else is panicking. But those words always belong to someone else, some client, some brand, some boss. After years of speaking in other people's voices, I sat down to say something as myself and realized I'd lost the thread of what that even sounds like.
