In the meeting someone on my team knew more than I did about the problem, and instead of feeling glad, I felt the ground shift under me. I believe I have to be the smartest person in any room I lead, so real talent starts to feel like a threat instead of a gift. I catch myself competing with the very people I'm supposed to be lifting up.
