When your campaign makes people want what they don't need

I wrote a campaign today that will make people feel a little emptier so they'll buy something to fill it, and it's good work, it'll win awards. Part of me calls it storytelling, and part of me knows I just manufactured a want that wasn't there this morning. I keep trying to find the line between telling the truth about a product and quietly making people need what they don't.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

You can't tell anymore where honest storytelling ends and manufacturing needs people don't have begins.

If this sounds familiar, the Library can help you find the bigger picture.
