I laid the last course on a wall today that will still be standing when my great-grandkids are old. My hands are proud of that. But they're also swollen and stiff, and my back reminds me every morning what this craft costs. I look around the site and wonder who's even left who wants to learn to build the slow, real way.
More people experience this than they realize.
Your work will outlast you, but your body is paying for it and no one wants to learn the craft.
