When your work saves everyone but stays invisible until it doesn't

I've built test automation that quietly guards a whole system, catching things before they ever reach a customer. But nobody thinks about it until the day it saves us all from a disaster, and then it's forgotten again by lunch. I keep the ship from sinking and stay below deck where no one looks.
