When you're doing everything right but the fear won't stop

I'm getting through the layoff, updating my resume, sending applications, doing the things you're supposed to do. But underneath it all there's this hum of fear I can't switch off. The not-knowing, how long this lasts, whether the money holds, keeps me up at two in the morning staring at the ceiling.
