I turned in another excellent piece of work today, the kind people point to as the standard, and I felt absolutely nothing about it. I'm genuinely good at this, and I think the whole thing is pointless. Being this skilled at something I can't bring myself to care about almost makes it worse, because I can't even tell myself I'm bad at it.
More people experience this than they realize.
