When you're good at solving problems you don't care about

All day I solve problems I'm genuinely good at. I tune the numbers, fix the broken thing, make the chart go up. For a few minutes the puzzle grabs me and it feels good. Then I look up and remember none of it matters to me, not really, and the hollow feeling slides right back in. I'm skilled at filling my days with things I don't care about.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

You're good at solving problems that mean nothing to you, and the emptiness keeps returning.

If this sounds familiar, the Library can help you find the bigger picture.
