When you're new and terrified of missing the vein

I'm still new at this and my hands aren't fully steady yet. Every patient who tenses up or looks away makes my own nerves jump, and I'm terrified I'll blow a vein or hurt someone. The fear feeds on itself, and I keep bracing for the stick where I finally get it wrong.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

You're new and scared of hurting someone, and every anxious patient makes your nerves worse.
