I clean up after people all day, and most of them look right through me like I'm not even there. They step over what I'm doing, drop their mess, and never meet my eyes. I do honest work, but being treated as invisible chips at something in me. It's hard to hold my head up when nobody sees you.
More people experience this than they realize.
Being treated as invisible while you clean up after others wears at your dignity.
