Scenario

When chronic pain changes friend group dynamics and everyone pretends it's fine

Our friend group has been getting together weekly for years but ever since I developed fibromyalgia, I cancel half the time and when I do come I'm exhausted and can't keep up — everyone's being nice about it but I can feel them pulling away and I don't blame them.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Unspoken accommodations can slowly erode the foundation of friendship if no one addresses what's really happening.
