How friend groups navigate ongoing physical consequences of addiction

Our friend group used to revolve around drinking and now one of us is sober and dealing with liver damage, and when we hang out we can see them getting tired quickly and we don't know whether to acknowledge it or pretend everything's normal. They're clearly struggling physically but they don't want to be treated like they're fragile, and we're all dancing around the reality of what alcohol did to their body.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group is struggling to acknowledge and accommodate the lasting physical effects of addiction while maintaining authentic connection.
