When your ethics discussion group isn't ready for real ethical questions

A group of us who work in tech started meeting to discuss the ethical implications of what we're building, but I'm starting to realize that most of them want to find ways to feel better about continuing exactly what they're doing while I'm questioning whether any of this work is justifiable. I don't know if I should push the conversation deeper or if that will just blow up the whole group.
