When couples realize they have fundamentally different values about cars and driving

My husband and I have been saving for years to buy our dream car — something we both actually love driving — but now that we can afford it, we're discovering we've never really talked about what we each value in a vehicle and our visions are completely incompatible. We keep having these surface-level conversations about features and budget, but underneath I think we're both afraid that choosing means one of us has to give up something fundamental about how we want to move through the world.
