My writing group started as a place where we could explore difficult questions through our work, but it's become this thing where everyone just encourages each other no matter what, and I feel like we've lost the ability to offer real feedback or challenge each other's thinking. We're all being so supportive that nothing actually gets better or deeper, but I don't know how to ask for more rigor without seeming ungrateful or mean.
