I'm the only person of color on our creative team and when we're developing campaigns, my colleagues keep asking me to speak for 'the minority perspective' as if I represent everyone who isn't white. When I try to explain why that's problematic, they get defensive about trying to be inclusive.
More people experience this than they realize.
