My co-founder and I are launching a nonprofit focused on criminal justice reform and we're writing our mission statement but we keep getting stuck on whether to explicitly oppose the death penalty or focus on other reforms first. They think being anti-death penalty will make us seem too radical to moderate donors and I think avoiding it makes us complicit in an unjust system.
