My college roommate and I are both exploring our gender identity but we're doing it really differently - they're very public about it on social media and involved in campus activism while I'm more private and still figuring things out. Living together means I'm constantly confronted with their certainty and visibility while I'm still questioning, and I think they see my uncertainty as internalized transphobia.
