My housemate collective is trying to make all our decisions by consensus but one person consistently blocks proposals they don't like and then proposes alternatives that serve their preferences. We all committed to this process because we believe in it philosophically, but it's being weaponized and we don't know how to address it without abandoning our principles.
More people experience this than they realize.
