When neighborhood groups debate including death penalty questions in candidate forums

My neighborhood association is organizing a candidate forum for local prosecutor races and we can't agree on whether to ask about death penalty positions since it rarely comes up in our county but the candidates have different views and some residents want to know. The older members think it's too divisive for a neighborhood event and the younger members think avoiding it is political cowardice.
