When organizing partners need to address how class differences shape shared responsibilities

My organizing partner and I have been working on housing justice for three years and we've gotten really close, but I'm starting to realize that when we talk about 'centering tenant voices' she mostly means her own experience as a renter while I'm thinking about the families we work with who are facing eviction. We've never directly talked about how our different class positions affect our work, but it's becoming impossible to ignore.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Partners are discovering that unexamined differences in social position are affecting how they understand their obligations to the communities they serve.
