My partner came out as non-binary six months ago and we're both trying to figure out what this means for our relationship and how we present as a couple to the world. We love each other deeply but there's this unspoken tension about how I sometimes still slip into old patterns of thinking about gender roles in our partnership, and I can see it hurts them even though we haven't directly addressed it.
