When academic or creative partners have different ideas about credit and recognition

My research partner and I have been collaborating for three years and we work well together intellectually, but they consistently take credit in ways that minimize my contributions and I don't know if it's intentional or just how they see the world. I've tried to address it indirectly but nothing changes and I'm starting to resent the whole partnership.
