When mixed-race couples have different passing privileges

My spouse and I are both mixed-race but they can pass as white and I can't, which creates these moments in public where we're treated completely differently and then we don't know how to process it together afterward. We love each other but this difference in how the world sees us is something we haven't learned to navigate as a couple.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Partners must address how differential treatment based on racial appearance affects their relationship and shared understanding of the world.
