When fathers and sons clash over different definitions of masculinity

My teenage son and I have completely different ideas about what it means to be a man and when I try to share what I learned about strength and responsibility he shuts down, and when he talks about emotions and vulnerability I feel like I'm failing him somehow. We're stuck in this cycle where my attempts to guide him feel like judgment to him and his openness feels foreign to me.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two generations are trying to connect across fundamentally different understandings of what masculinity should be.
