When couples have different approaches to sexual orientation visibility and advocacy

My wife and I have been together for eight years and we're both bisexual, but we experience and express our orientation so differently that it's starting to create distance between us. She's very involved in bi visibility advocacy and wants us to be more public about our identities, while I prefer to keep that part of myself private, and we can't seem to find a way to honor both of our needs without one of us feeling unsupported or misunderstood.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two people sharing the same sexual orientation are discovering that identity expression and community engagement preferences can create unexpected relationship tensions.
