When creative communities challenge your evolving authentic voice

My writing group has been together for three years and we've all been supportive of each other's work, but lately I've been writing about topics that feel more personal and political than before, and I can sense some discomfort from the group. I'm trying to figure out if I should adapt my authentic voice to maintain these relationships or if part of becoming who I'm meant to be means accepting that some connections might not survive my growth.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

An artist is navigating tension between personal growth and group harmony, questioning whether authentic self-expression is compatible with existing relationships.
