When creative communities face tension between institutional support and maintaining decolonial values

Our arts collective started as a way to center indigenous and diasporic voices but now that we're getting institutional funding, some of us think we're being co-opted and others think we're finally getting the resources we deserve. The meetings have gotten tense and I'm worried we're going to split apart over this when we all want the same thing - authentic representation and sustainability.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group is fracturing over the fundamental question of whether working within existing systems can ever serve decolonial goals.
