When autism advocacy groups clash over autistic self-advocacy

Our autism advocacy organization is run mostly by parents and when autistic adults try to center our own voices, there's pushback about being 'ungrateful' or 'high-functioning' and I don't know how to bridge this divide without abandoning either group.
