Our community center board has been trying to address complaints that our programming doesn't reflect the changing demographics of the neighborhood, but every time we bring in new voices, the long-time members get defensive about the criticism of how things have been done. The newer members are frustrated that change is so slow, and I'm watching people leave before we've even really started the work.
