How community groups can address unspoken class tensions

Our community choir has members from very different class and educational backgrounds and there's been tension around repertoire choices and performance standards that we're all dancing around because no one wants to seem elitist or anti-intellectual. The music director is caught in the middle and rehearsals have become uncomfortable for everyone.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group's shared activity is being undermined by class dynamics that no one feels safe to name directly.
