When your activist identity feels separate from your daily life

Our community group has been doing social justice work together for two years, but I've realized that my 'activist self' who shows up to protests and meetings feels completely disconnected from my everyday life, and I think others are experiencing this too. We're all passionate about the cause but struggling with how to integrate this work with the rest of who we are instead of keeping it compartmentalized.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The compartmentalization of different aspects of identity can make sustained community work feel unsustainable when our cause-driven selves remain isolated from our integrated lives.
