When community groups struggle to center affected voices in practice

Our community group is trying to center the voices of people most affected by the issue we're working on, but in practice the people with more institutional knowledge and connections keep driving the agenda and I don't know how to shift this without creating conflict.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Well-intentioned efforts to redistribute power within groups often fail because they don't address the structural advantages that enable some voices to dominate.
